Over three years ago I bought a Lomo LC-A and it has been my camera of choice for many many occasions. However with so much use and the camera not being built to withstand what I put it through, it started to fall apart. I had heard on many occasions about broken LC-A’s and how they and their cheaper lomo companions are not built to last, start to fall apart with use. This is what happened to mine, first screws started to fall out, then strangely one small part of the camera which although the camera worked to begin with, after a while and a few wasted rolls of film, the camera stopped working.

Don’t let this stop you from buying this camera, its probably the best lomo camera you can purchase. Although recent demand for lomographic camera has increased and now the prices for these toy cameras are higher than they probably should be, you will have to decide for yourself if the experimental results are worth the investment.
The main reason I wanted to get my LC-A fixed was because I would be going to Sweden in a few weeks and so it was urgent to get my camera repaired. As I have done with my Lomo New York project, recently shot ‘Lomo London’ and my next project being ‘Lomo Stockholm’. Now if you happen to have a Lomo LC-A and it happens to have broken or might break then I highly reccomend ‘Roger Lean’ — give him a google, will find an address and his phone number, give him a call and post off your camera, and he will repair it right back to as if it were new.
Here is an hand written note from Roger of what he repaired on my camera…

…as you can see it was quite a list!
And so it was I took my camera to Sweden and these are a few of the photos I came out with.
